On Wednesday, September 6th 2017 we closed the course at 2:15 pm to make room for our Women’s League shot gun event! With just over 100 participants, it was going to take much more than a light sprinkle of rain (the first of the entire season!) to put a damper on the evening! Each group played 9 holes of scramble golf, then were welcomed into the clubhouse with a complimentary glass of Champagne, a delicious locally-sourced dinner of BBQ ribs, grilled zucchini, fresh salads and roasted red potatoes. Following dinner our annual raffle draw took place to raise money for breast cancer research and rehabilitation.
With nearly $3,000 worth of prize donations, the women did an excellent job on supporting our cause! We would like to thank all of our donors: E. Dyk Opticians, Murray’s Clothing, Neob Lavender Elora, Aloette with Chantel Dirksen, Studio E Interior Design, Secrete Garden Tea House, Thirty One Bags, Euro Reflections Hair Studio, 10 Thousand Villages, Boston Pizza, Tournament Sports, Everest Clinical Research Inc., The Museum, Baden Coffee, Anytime Fitness Fergus, Drayton Theatre, Wine Kitz Waterloo, Fancy that Cake, Kitras Art Glass, RBC, Cobs Fresh Bread, Arbonne and CarlyGolf.
Our fundraising efforts raised just over $2,200! We would like to thank all of the ladies that participated in the closing event. On behalf of the entire team we Merry-Hill Golf Club, we would like to thank you ladies for a great season! We look forward to seeing you throughout the fall months and next year as well!

Congratulations to our champions.
Over the course of the year, the Men's League has raised funds for our Junior Golf Programs here at Merry-Hill. This season, the league raised just over $2,500 for Junior Golf! This money has gone to wards purchasing new junior golf clubs, meals and snacks for the summer camps, trophies and prizing for the Junior Club Championship, and the closing meal for the Junior League. Outstanding funds will be used for 2018 marketing to encourage more kids to get involved in the game of golf!

This junior league program features a team vs. team format, providing a fun and social environment for kids aged 10 - 16 years of age. There is no individual scoring in our League, but rather the low-pressure 2-person scramble format. A week before the league begins, the coach will assign players to a team (4-6 teams total). Each player will receive a team jersey and will play each week with different team players. There is a total of 8 weeks in the Junior Golf League.
Each week teams will compete against each other for team points, which will be awarded for participation, sportsmanship, good golf etiquette, as well as number of matches won against their opposing team. Each 9-hole round will have 3 matches, Match #1 is on holes 1-3, Match #2 is on holes 4-6 and Match #3 is on holes 7-9. You win a match by having the lowest score on all three holes in a match - this gives your team 1 point. Additional points can be awarded to teams that show great sportsmanship and etiquette, as well as for participation. These points are awarded by the League Coach. At the end of the league day, the League Coach will calculate team points and matches won for each team.
